The last 4 Qvevries of Rkatsiteli 2021 harvest were opened in our wine cellar. Brilliant wine came out of 4 two-ton pitchers.
This crop was harvested by hand last year, in early October. The clusters were handly selected and placed in Qvevries after passing through the stemmer. It was fermented and aged with skin contacts until spring, mid-April. as is the old Georgian tradition.
There was naturally filtered, limpid amber colored wine in Qvevries. The aromas of spices, dried herbs, quince and dried pears are strongly felt in its rich aromas. It is quite full-bodied, rich in tannins, balanced with alcohol and acidity. Although young, it is an already formed wine.
It will soon be bottled and this way it will continue to age. Wait for his turn to enter the market and get to know his loyal customers. This will happen when the previous year’s crops run out and the place is given to young wine.
